Insect and Spider Nest 3D Background

A 3D terrarium background inspired by a natural ant nest, with an organically branched tunnel and chamber structure. The many openings create a sense of depth and turn the enclosure into a vivid underground landscape.

• Material: PETG, for aquarium and terrarium decor. Resists water and humidity; keep clear of direct contact with heat lamps and other heat sources.
• Floats: Printed PETG pieces can float because they contain air. For aquarium use, secure the base with aquarium-safe silicone or a suitable aquarium adhesive as described under “Good to know”.
• Safety: Choose dimensions, openings and a filament finish appropriate for your plants, fish, insects, reptiles or other animals. Check placement and condition before use.
• Finish: unpainted, in the colour and PETG finish of your choice. Painted effects shown in reference photos are not included.

Colours

First choose a finish (Basic, Matte, Marble, Metal-Like or Glow-in-the-Dark), then pick a colour from that finish. Metal-Like includes our Galaxy, Sparkly and Metallic colours. There are 75 PETG colours in total, and the colour charts at the end of the photos show each one. Want something that is not listed? Contact us and we will try to source it.

Need a different size? The listed variants are convenient standard sizes, not the limits of what we can make. Many designs can be resized in width, height and depth, and their proportions can be adjusted to better fit your enclosure. Small dimensional changes often do not materially affect the price; custom pricing is based primarily on the number of modular panels required. Where it works

Insect terrariums, formicariums (visually inspired, not intended as a real ant farm with viewing access), rainforest and desert terrariums, and as a structuring element in aquariums, where the openings add visual depth and sheltered spaces.

Quality and care

Fine printed layer lines and small surface variations are normal. Clean gently with mild soap and water and rinse thoroughly. Keep clear of direct heat sources. Colours can look slightly different on screen.

Good to know

• Anchoring in an aquarium: Bond the base to a flat stone or acrylic sheet with aquarium-safe silicone, or with hot glue or cyanoacrylate superglue specifically suitable for aquarium use. Follow the adhesive manufacturer’s surface preparation and full curing instructions before placing it in the aquarium. Where the design allows, a few small holes through the underside into enclosed air pockets let water in and air out, reducing buoyancy.
• Measure the inside of your enclosure before ordering, and leave a little room for installation.
• Some photos show hand-painted examples. This piece ships unpainted.
